1 Dead, Several Injured After London-Singapore Flight Hit By Severe Turbulence
One person died and several sustained injuries after a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore encountered severe turbulence.
New Delhi: Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore encountered severe turbulence on Tuesday leaving one person dead and several injured. The Boeing 777-300ER was diverted to Bangkok, where it landed at 3:45pm. Flight SQ321 “encountered severe turbulence en route”, Singapore Airlines says in a statement.
“We can confirm that there are injuries and one fatality on board the Boeing 777-300ER. There were a total of 211 passengers and 18 crew on board.”
The airlines has also added that it was working with Thai authorities to provide medical assistance to passengers, and was sending a team to Bangkok to provide any additional assistance needed. Thai authorities have despatched ambulances and emergency teams to the Suvarnabhumi Airport .
