Megidish was an observation soldier, taken hostage by Hamas when they stormed the Nahal Oz base on October 7.
IDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus told CNN that the Israeli army went to northern Gaza based on intelligence about the soldier’s whereabouts.
Conricus added that Megidish has also provided information about her time in captivity with Israeli intelligence officers which “can be used for the future.”
The IDF spokesperson, however, did not say if there are other rescue operations in line based on existing intelligence about the whereabouts of other hostages. He said, “We are definitely committed to get all of our 238 hostages currently held by Hamas in Gaza, all of them, to get them home.”
