Sunrisers Hyderabad moved jumped two spots past Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore to the seventh spot on the IPL 2023 points table following their 23-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on Friday. SRH rode on Harry Brook’s scintillating 100 not out off just 55 balls — the first century of the season so far — to post a commanding 228/4 on the board.

KKR, in response, lost wickets in a heap upfront, getting reduced to 20/3 before skipper Nitish Rana (75 off 41) brought back back in the chase with a spirited counterattack. Narayan Jagadeesan (36) and Rinku Singh along the way. Rinku carried on after Rana was dismissed by T Natarajan, taking the game down to the last over before a superb final over from Umran Malik closed out a second win on the trot for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
While SRH jumped to the seventh spot, KKR remained static at fourth. They are among the fourth teams locked on four points, the other teams being Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings, with Kolkata having the best Net Run Rate of the bunch.
The table is currently led by last year’s runner-up Rajasthan Royals, who are tied on six points with Lucknow Super Giants and defending champions Gujarat Titans though the Sanju Samson-led side have the best NRR of the trio.
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, sit at the eighth and ninth spots respectively with two points each from three games, while Delhi Capitals, the only team without a single point to their name so far, sit at the bottom with four defeats in as many games.

Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan (233 runs) leads the Orange Cap list after his breathtaking 99 not out against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Delhi Capitals skipper David Warner (209) is in the second spot while Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler (204) holds the third position.
Rajasthan Royals’ Yuzvendra Chahal is the Purple Cap holder with 10 wickets. Gujarat Titans’ Rashid Khan is in second with nine wickets. Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mark Wood is third, also with nine wickets to his name.
