Palestinian death toll in Gaza surpasses 13,000

According to Gaza's official media agency, the Palestinian casualty toll in the Gaza Strip has surpassed 13,000 since the Israel-Hamas conflict commenced on October 7.

At a news conference on Sunday, Ismail al-Thawabta, the director general of the media office, revealed that among the deceased were 5,500 children and 3,500 women, with over 30,000 others gravely injured.

Israeli military says detained 38 Palestinians in West Bank raid

The Israeli army stated in a statement posted on its website that its soldiers had collected weapons and broke down what it called explosives fabrication facilities.

Israel said that the attacks were aimed at refugee camps in Nablus and Jenin.

Hamas called Israel's announcement of the discovery of a tunnel beneath the Al-Shifa hospital a "pure lie."

Gaza's health ministry director, Mounir El Barsh, said Al Jazeera television that Israeli soldiers had been in the facility for eight days and "hadn't found anything."

The Japanese government said Monday that it "strongly condemns" the seizure of a Japanese-operated ship in the Red Sea by Yemen's Iran-backed Huthi rebels.
