Meet Iman Vellani; the Pakistani-Canadian actress of The Marvels

In the world of showbiz, very few young actresses manage to make a mark through their performances and the 21-year-old Iman Vellani is definitely one of them. The Canadian-Pakistani star garnered global fame for her character of Kamala Khan aka Ms Marvel.

Early Life

Iman moved to Canada from Karachi, Pakistan when she was just one. She did her graduation from Unionville High School in Markham, Ontario and was selected as a member of the TIFF Next Wave Committee at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival.

Claim to Fame

In September 2020, it was revealed that Vellani will play superhero Kamala Khan aka Ms Marvel in the miniseries for Disney+ Hotstar. The show released in 2022 and the lead actress received praises for her portrayal.

Upcoming biggies

Vellani will reprise her role as Kamala Khan in the 2023 film The Marvels, a sequel to the 2019 film Captain Marvel. It is set to hit the screens during the Diwali weekend.
